Sus padres,  Ernesto Vargas Maldonado y  Dora Llosa Ureta, ya estaban separados cuando vino al mundo y no conocer\u00eda a su progenitor hasta los diez a\u00f1os de edad.<\/p>\n<p>Estudia la primaria hasta el cuarto a\u00f1o en el Colegio La Salle de Cochabamba en Bolivia. En 1945 su familia vuelve al Per\u00fa y se instala en la ciudad de Piura, donde cursa el quinto grado en el Colegio Salesiano de esa ciudad.
